Fixtures Secretary

We have an URGENT need for an 11-a-Side Fixtures Secretary to take over from the Chairman of the Club Oliver McKenna who needs more time to perform his Chairman’s duties.

The11-a-Side Fixtures Secretary needs to, ideally, have the following:-

Role

It is the job of the Fixtures Secretary to be the single point of contact regarding fixtures with the NDSL and the Fixtures Secretaries of all the other leagues DYFC play in.
In addition, the Fixtures Secretary will also liaise/communicate with the Club Secretaries of all the other clubs that compete in our leagues.

Time Commitment

Especially on the Friday /Saturday/Sunday during the football season you will need to be available to answer texts or calls in the event of Matches being called off or re-scheduled or if the referee fails to turn up. These are rare enough events but need immediate attention as soon as they arise. Oliver will provide back-up on occasions when you are not available as will our SSG Secretary, Ursula Hill.

 

Skills

  • Good interpersonal skills to liaise with the various Soccer Leagues / Club Secretaries as well as withour own Team Managers & Coaches.
  • Able to communicate via email and text
  • Familiar with keeping Facebook up to date.
  • A good spread of computer skills i.e. Web use, Twitter WhatsApp and generally comfortable with using social media and computers.

Resources

You shall be provided with a Smartphone for club use if required.

Full training through a comprehensive handover will naturally be provided and Oliver will always be there to guide and support so you won’t be left on your own.
